Righteous

The first of four Steps that satisfies our spiritual hunger and prepares us for a life of righteousness.

You must desire it.

Just as You cannot be made to eat by anyone, You can’t be forced to lead a righteous life.
It’s true what they say: You can bring a horse to water, but you can’t force it to drink.

Now, granted, most of us don’t need to be forced to eat. You only consume food when you are actually hungry.

“We don’t survive to eat, we eat to survive” has become the catchphrase for our way of life. We must apply the same in our spiritual lives.

Similar to food, the more you consume, the healthier you get. However, this does not indicate that you should consume excessive amounts of food.

You make it a habit to consume high-quality food at regular intervals. In the same manner, you must desire to lead a moral life.

Make doing what is right a habit. Make it a part of who you are and a way of life.
Hunger and thirst are verbs that denote strong feelings, burning cravings, and obsessive pursuits.

It’s as if nothing will stop you from going to the fountain to get some water because you’re so thirsty.

Or perhaps you are so ravenous that you will do everything to get food.
It’s an intense form of hunger.

A person who is ambitious, enthusiastic, and determined to succeed is referred to in a different situation as having this quality.

If this person is unknowing of God, he or she may lie to great lengths in order to get what they desire.

Unfortunately, in order to fulfil their goals, they even kill other people.

The “hunger” factor is what is to blame for this.

The believer should be driven to seek righteousness with the same type of fire and zeal.

Psalm 42:1-2 quotes David as saying My soul yearns for You, O God. just like a deer yearns for a watering hole.

My soul is in desperate need of God—the living God.
When shall I return to God and make myself known?

In Psalm 63:1, he continued.

O God, You are my God. I will seek You in the morning because in a dry and thirsty land without water, my soul cries out to You and my body weakens for You.

Intense desires include hunger and thirst.
We require that same fervor when pursuing righteousness.
Do you truly desire to live a Christian lifestyle in that way?

You could be so desperate as to approach Jesus and ask for help “I need you more than I just want you.

In addition, I am thirsty for you and I must have you since I not only need you “?
