Two Kingdoms, Two Citizenships: Where Do You Belong? If you live in Kenya, you are aware of the rights, privileges, and obligations that come with being a citizen, including paying taxes and abiding by the law. And it’s the same worldwide, not just in Kenya. No matter where you’re from, citizenship entails a unique set of responsibilities and rights.
However, things take a somewhat different turn when we look into the spiritual realm and beyond the material world. Either you are a citizen of the kingdom of God or you are a citizen of the kingdom of the world.

Let’s start by discussing the kingdom of the world. It promotes the idea of complete freedom: live your life as you like, follow your passions, and have no accountability. Doesn’t it sound good? However, there is a catch: there is a price. The repercussions of those “free” decisions eventually show up. The realization that this world doesn’t provide the happy endings you were hoping for is followed by feelings of disappointment and loneliness.
The Kingdom of God, on the other hand, functions rather differently. The privileges and rights in God’s Kingdom are real, and while there are duties, they are not burdensome. One basic element is the foundation of it all: Faith. To become a citizen of this Kingdom, you only need that “document.”
You can obtain things via faith that the world cannot provide, such as miracles, unfathomable wisdom, and peace that endures during difficult times. You even have the luxury of being able to speak directly with God at any time of day or night.
What To Do To Discern between These Two Kingdoms, Two Citizenships:
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Having faith is more than simply declaring one’s belief. You live your life by it. The Bible gives out the values, beliefs, and way of life that the Kingdom of God’s citizens are required to uphold; think of it as its constitution. Your faith grows stronger the more you adhere to it.
Rules are disliked by most individuals. We gripe about things as trivial as traffic restrictions, let alone anything that requires us to make a sacrifice or change. Unfortunately, not everyone is a part of God’s Kingdom because of this. Although many individuals desire the things this Kingdom has to offer—inner peace, a solid family, enduring joy, future assurance, and even everlasting life—they are not interested in the level of dedication required.
Only in God’s Kingdom are these advantages accessible. They are not available in the world in which we live. In the kingdom of the world, everything has a cost. Peace, too, is something you must seek. Even worse, nothing endures forever.
